i have an asus zenbook ux303ub which used to not have this problem but about a
month ago i reformatted & installed Arch linux again and the problem appeard ,
just suspend to ram 3 or 4 times and try to shutdown the system freezes and
nothing fixes it but a hard reboot .

after some initial testing , kernel 4.6.5 doesn't have the problem .

so 4.6 works but 4.10 does not, right?
If this can be 100% reproduced, please run git bisect to find out which commit

well, the git bisect result does not gives up any useful information. could you
please attach the full git bisect log, if there is any?

BTW, something interesting is that, you are using the same laptop model with
the people in bug #108801, but it seems that you run into a different problem.
Please confirm if this is duplicate/similar to bug #108801.

if i compile the kernel without Nouveau the issue disappear ,

but that is not a permanent solution as the laptop has Nvidia graphic .

No, you can get the bisect log when you run git bisect, via this command "git
bisect log".
If you didn't save it somewhere before, I'm not sure if you can still get it
now.

Please file a bug report at freedesktop.org to raise the problem to graphics
experts to see why graphics driver matters.

I can reassign this problem to DRM category but I don't think they will look at
bug reports in kernel.org.
Please file a freedesktop bug report instead and let's get this bug report
