Bug ID: 195907
Summary: Physical Volume Buttons not detected on Asus Zenbook
Flip UX360UA
Product: ACPI
Version: 2.5
Kernel Version: 4.11.1-1-default
Hardware: Intel
OS: Linux
Tree: Mainline
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P1
Component: Other
Assignee: ***@kernel-bugs.osdl.org
Reporter: ***@gmail.com
Regression: No
Overview:
The Zenbook Flip UX360UA has physical volume control buttons which
unfortunately do not seem to be detected whatsoever in kernel 4.11.1-1
(openSUSE Tumbleweed). It also was not detected in earlier kernels (4.4 under
openSUSE Leap 42.2, as well as a live version of Ubuntu 17.04).
Steps to Reproduce:
Push physical volume button.
Actual Results:
Nothing is detected.
Expected Results:
Buttons are detected (and volume adjusts accordingly when buttons are pressed).
Additional Information:
The buttons work as expected in Windows, and the FN+F11/F12 volume control
works as expected in Linux.
All other sensors on the machine (orientation, lid switch, etc) are detected
correctly.
acpi_listen does not report any event upon pushing the buttons, nor does xev /
evtest.
This is my first kernel bug report; kindly let me know what other information
is required and I will provide it. Thank you very much.
